Voluntary Service
All Sixth Form students are expected to be active members of the School community and give back.
The awarding of Sixth Form Senior Honours is based on their volunteering and representation of the School record.
All students are expected to complete 50 hours’ service (including at least 15 hours volunteering) per year as part of their commitment to wider school life and the Gordon’s ethos.
The Honours window for students runs for five terms from the start of Year 12.
Service hours are closely monitored and recorded, reported on school reports, and all volunteering hours must be validated by a supervising member of staff.
Students who achieve the criteria are awarded:
- An enhanced School / UCAS reference recognising the student as an 'Honours Student'
- A LinkedIn recommendation
- A School colours lapel tricolore badge
All recorded hours count towards a House competition that will be publicised on the various screens and in Houses throughout the year.
