During Enrichment week in July 2014 the Art Department was delighted to be able to organise a two day Mosaic project with 21 selected Year 9 pupils.  Led and supervised by Mrs Gibbs, with the assistance of Miss Antolik, pupils were given the opportunity to work with a visiting artist, Richard Gibson from Claydayz. Over the two days the pupils worked on designs for two 5ft x 3ft murals to go up in the Dining Hall and outside the School’s Main Reception. Once completed, in small groups they planned and designed eight other designs which they turned into mosaics for the various departments around the School. The 20 pupils enjoyed working collaboratively and furthering their knowledge of pattern, colour and design, whilst working with new materials and processes. It was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to create artwork that will last for many years on display around the School.
