Reigate Grammar Model United Nations Conference
On Saturday 24th September, twelve students represented Gordon's School at the Reigate Grammar Model United Nations Conference (Alice Hicken, Bene Robinson, Dan Farrow, Fatima Khan, Yael Astle, Nathan Vann, Gwyneth Sotuminu, Hannah Hailu, Alex Duke, James Kennett, Cerys Carson, Sophie Chan).
Representing Tanzania, Indonesia and Senegal, delegates came together with students from across the country to debate on international issues of politics, the environment, security, disarmament, decolonisation and human rights. Gordon's students once again demonstrated excellent diplomatic and debating skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork and leadership.
We are particularly delighted to take along nine Year 12 students who were able to participate in their first conference. MUN is definitely a "way of life" and they have clearly caught the bug!
Special recognition must go to Gwyneth Sotuminu (Y12) who won an "outstanding delegate" award for her participation.
